Your garden is saved in your browser's local storage, so it persists between visits on the same device and browser. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will reset it. We're working on account-based saving for a future update.

Not always. Many crops have a wide sowing window, and fast-growing crops like radish, lettuce, and spinach can be started later in the season. Check the growing calendar on each crop's page — if the current month is shown, it's not too late.

What's the best crop for a complete beginner?

Radish is the fastest and most forgiving — from seed to harvest in around 4 weeks. Lettuce and nasturtiums are also excellent first crops. They germinate quickly, show results fast, and teach you to read your plants without a long wait.

Companion planting uses the natural relationships between plants to improve growing conditions. Some companions repel pests (marigolds deter aphids and whitefly), others attract beneficial insects, fix nitrogen in the soil, or simply use space efficiently. How do I deal with slugs organically?

Evening patrols with a torch are the most effective method — collect and relocate slugs away from your plot. Copper tape creates a barrier around containers. Nematodes (Phasmarhabditis hermaphroditis) applied to damp soil in spring offer biological control without chemicals. Grit and eggshells around vulnerable plants also help. Avoid slug pellets — they harm ground beetles, which are natural slug predators.
